NORTH WEBSTER – Joyce Mae Matson, 73, of North Webster, passed away at 6:12 a.m. on Friday, April 16, 2021, at Lutheran Hospital of Indiana in Fort Wayne.
She was born on May 9, 1947, in Somerset, Ky., to Chester and Alice Hall Redford. She graduated from East Chicago Roosevelt High School in East Chicago, Ind., and was married on Jan. 3, 1986, in Warsaw, to Robert A. Matson, who survives.
She moved to the North Webster area in 1985, was a homemaker and formerly worked at Crystal Flash Convenience Store in North Webster and Kimball Glass in Warsaw. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 253 in North Webster.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Matson, of North Webster; son, Todd (JoyAnn Torrez) Dawes, of Griffith; stepdaughter, Lisa (John) Stevens, of Derby, Vt.; stepson, Jeffrey Matson, of Valparaiso; six grandchildren:?Annaliese Dawes, Mason Dawes, Isabella Dawes, Emma Stevens, Sara Stevens and Layne Matson; two sisters: Brenda Diehl, of Onalaska, Wis.; and Diana Belko, of Hebron; brother, Edward Redford, of Crown Point; two sisters-in-law:?Rosemarie Dollinar, of Michigan City; and Mary Ann (Ronald)?Haskins, of North Webster; and brother-in-law, Frank (Linda) Matson, of Hammond.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, April 21 at Owen Family Funeral Home, Ind. 13 and CR 500N, North Webster. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. on Wednesday in the funeral home, with Fr. Larry Biller of the All Saints Episcopal Church in Syracuse officiating. Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. Ind. 15, Warsaw.
