AKRON - Joyce A. Read, 65, 13253 E. Ind. 114, Akron, died at 5 p.m. April 29, 2007, in her residence.
She was born Sept. 28, 1941, in Warsaw, to Vernon and Pauline Gebert Fawley. On May 29, 1959, in Syracuse, he married Larry E. Read, who died Jan. 3, 2006.
She and her late husband owned and operated Reads Racing Inc. She was a 1959 Syracuse High School graduate.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Scott (Debbie) Eddy, Warsaw, and Mrs. Michael (Carol) Klinger, Akron; a son, Steve (and wife Kelly), North Webster; eight grandchildren: Mrs. Matt (Cathy) Weiler, Warsaw; Mrs. Kris (Lori) Locklin, Pierceton; Mikey (and wife Sharon), Larry, Dian, Sandy and Gary Klinger, all of Akron; and Doug Read, North Webster; three great-grandchildren, Jenna and David Weiler, both of Warsaw, and Lex Locklin, Pierceton; a sister, Mrs. Michael (Jean) Anicka, Kentucky; and a brother, Vernon (and wife Marcille) Fawley, Fort Wayne.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Hartzler Funeral Home, 305 W. Rochester St., Akron, with Pastor Terry Canfield officiating. Burial will be in Silver Creek Cemetery, Silver Lake.
Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
