LIGONIER – Joy Weimer, 82, Ligonier, left Avalon Village January 27, 2016, to be forever with the Lord surrounded by her family.
She was born June 10, 1933, in Kimmell, to Chester “Roy” and Erma Hontz Stump. On July 9, 1952, she married Lennel “Pat” Weimer, Larwill, who preceded her in death in 1998.
She was a long time employee of the Kidd Co., Ligonier. Prior to that she was a teacher’s aide for many years in the West Noble school system. She spent her time working on crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, gardening and was an avid reader of mystery novels. Her favorite pastime was to be with her family. Being a loving mother and a grandmother was something she definitely enjoyed.
She will be dearly missed by her children: Greg (and spouse Nancy) Weimer, Winona Lake; Pam (and spouse Ed) Whipp, Fort Wayne; Allen (and spouse Debra) Weimer, Ligonier; Randy (and spouse Christy) Weimer, Hinsdale, Ill.; and Joe Weimer, Ligonier; 15 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and a sister, Judy Crider, Churubusco. She was also preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Jack Stump.
A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Yeager Funeral Home, Ligonier, with Pastor John Lersch officiating. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery, Larwill.
Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home and on Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service.
