MENTONE – Joy L. Young, 50, of 20414 Birch Road, Mentone, died unexpectedly at 10:27 p.m. April 17, 2013, in the emergency room at Woodlawn Hospital, Rochester. She was born Feb. 15, 1963, in Wabash County, to William and Kathryn Renicker O’Hara, who survive. On June 1, 1991, in North Manchester, she married Mark S. Young, who survives. She was the secretary at North Central Co-Op for more than 10 years. Prior to that she was the secretary at Winona Corp. for 14 years. She graduated from North Manchester High School in 1981. She enjoyed bowling, her chickens and all aspects of farm life as well as being active in Kosciusko County 4-H in goats, sheep and poultry. Also surviving are three daughters: Mariah Young (and fiance Austin Metzger), North Manchester; Megan Young, Mentone; and Christy Berger, Rochester; two sons, Josh and Jermey Young, both of Rochester; seven grandchildren; a sister, Maryann (and spouse Jack) Bever, Lagro; and two brothers, Dan (and spouse Loni) O’Hara, Silver Lake, and Patrick O’Hara, South Whitley. She was preceded in death by a grandchild and a brother, Scott O’Hara. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at King Memorial Home, 101 N. Tucker St., Mentone, with Pastor Larrie Kreft officiating.
