Josh Turner, Bill Scheft Among 6 New Shows At Honeywell

WABASH - Six new shows went on sale at the Honeywell Center recently.

Tickets became available for Josh Turner, Dance Kaleidoscope, U.S. Army Field Band, The Special Consensus, Bill Scheft and David Phelps.WWKI welcomes Josh Turner back to Wabash after a sold-out concert in 2007.

His debut album "Long Black Train" sold a million copies and earned the country singer two nominations from the Country Music Association and one from the Academy of Country Music.

"Your Man," his second album, reached No. 1 on Billboard's Hot Country Albums Chart.

The concert is presented in partnership with Ivy Tech Community College, with tickets priced at $18, $38 and $75.

Dance Kaleidoscope will present "iconoGlass and Class" June 27 at 7:30 p.m.

Set to the driving music of Philip Glass, Dance Kaleidoscope's signature work embodies the sheer power, athleticism and beauty of the company. Artistic Director David Hochoy will narrate a live demonstration of the Martha Graham Technique, a well-known contemporary ballet-like dance.

Dance Kaleidoscope will be presented in conjunction with the Charley Creek Arts Fest. Tickets are $10 for general admission seating.

Beacon Credit Union will sponsor The U.S. Army Field Band: The Volunteers July 5 at 3 p.m.

The Volunteers is the Army's premier touring show band, presenting a blend of popular rock 'n' roll, country, jazz and patriotic tunes. Tickets are free, and are available online, at the Honeywell Box Office, or at any Beacon Credit Union.

Nationally known bluegrass band The Special Consensus will hit the stage Aug. 21 at 7:30 p.m.

The four-person band has played together since 1975, releasing several albums and touring frequently along the way. Special guest The Harness Family Band is an eight-piece bluegrass band from Wabash, and has played during the Sizzlin' Summer Plaza Series and headlined a show on the Ford Theater stage earlier this year. Tickets are $10, $15 and $25.

Novelist, columnist, television writer and stand-up comic Bill Scheft has established himself as one of the most versatile comedic voices today. Known for his frequent stints on Bob & Tom and as the long-time head monologue writer for David lettermen, Scheft returns to his stand-up comedy roots this summer.

Scheft will perform Aug. 22 at 7:30 p.m., and will do a book signing after the show in the lobby. Tickets are $8, $12, $18 and $25.

WBCL will welcome Christian singer David Phelps on Sept. 26 at 7:30 p.m. Sponsored by Halderman Farm Management Service, "The World Voice Tour" highlights his new album "The Voice." Tickets are $15, $20, $25 and $35.
