NORTH MANCHESTER – Josephine Moore, 85, Columbia City, formerly of North Manchester, went home to be with her Lord July 11, 2014, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born Aug. 17, 1928, in Blue River, Ky., to Belva and Crow Nelson. On July 4, 1946, she met her loving husband, Ray Moore, 68 years ago. On April 26, 1947, she married Moore, who survives in Columbia City. They celebrated 67 years of marriage. She was the oldest daughter of 10 children. She retired after 26 years of service from Controls Corp., North Manchester. She loved bluegrass music and was a dedicated supporter of her family’s musical hobby. Ray and Jo camped and enjoyed bluegrass festivals for over 40 years. The last 20 years they wintered in Florida. They truly enjoyed being with all their friends and family and making new friends along the way. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Zolfo Springs, Fla. Also surviving are two sons, Roger (and spouse Peggy) Moore, Indianapolis, and Ed (and spouse Pat) Moore, Urbana; a daughter, Crystal (and spouse Dave) Anderson, Columbia City; a daughter-in-law, Karen Moore, Pierceton; five grandsons: Travis (and spouse Brooke) Moore, Huntington, Greg (and spouse Deena) Moore, Reedsville, Pa., Andrew Moore and Don Beatty, both of Urbana, and Dave Davidson, Indianapolis; three granddaughters, Brooke (and spouse Eric) Beck, Pierceton, and Jessica Moore, both of Pierceton, and Karen Davidson, Indianapolis; six great-grandchildren: Haylee Moore and Breanna Moore, both of Huntington, Logan Moore, Wabash, Shania Davidson and Seth Davidson, both of Indianapolis, and Sidney Beatty, Urbana; a brother, Crow (and spouse Sue) Nelson Jr., Huntington; two sisters, Ethel (and spouse Jeff) Hill, Muncie, and Dorsey (and spouse Elmer) Shepherd, Prestonsburg, Ky.; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Michael Ray Moore, her mother, father, one brother and five sisters. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at McKee Mortuary, 1401 Ind. 114 W., North Manchester, with Pastor J. P. Freeman officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Servia.
