NORTH MANCHESTER — Josephine Jayne, 87, North Manchester, formerly of Silver Lake, died at 4:54 p.m. April 6, 2017, at Peabody Healthcare Center, North Manchester.
She was born May 3, 1929, in Jasper,  to Foister and Mintie Brown Richardson. She married Charlie Jayne on Dec. 14, 1947. He died on April 22, 2004.
She was a homemaker and co-owner of Jayne’s Bargain Barn, Silver Lake.
She graduated from Silver Lake High School, class of 1947. She loved crocheting, gardening, cooking and flowers. She also enjoyed camping, reading and attending rummage sales and auctions.
Survivors include three sons: David Jayne, North Manchester; Paul (companion Wendy Billman) Jayne, Silver Lake; and Steve (companion Beverly Guthrie) Jayne,, Millbrook, Ala.; six daughters: Charlotte Sue (Lester) Jayne-Spangle, Silver Lake; Pat Irelan, Linda (Fred) Kling, Betty Smith and Jo (Scott) Leffel, all of North Manchester; and Laurie (Rick) Voss, South Whitley; 25 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded by her parents; a son, Charles Jayne; a son-in-law, Wendell Smith; a brother and a sister.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday, April 10, at McKee Mortuary, 1401 Ind. 114W, North Manchester. Pastor William Whitaker will officiate, and burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Silver Lake.
Calling is from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday, April 9, at the mortuary and also one hour prior to service.
