Joseph Prater, 34, of 4517 E. CR 500S, Warsaw, died at 12:08 p.m. May 27, 2009, in his residence.
He was born Jan. 4, 1975, in Columbia City, to John and Bonnie Prater. On March 15, 1993, he married Tara Popenfoose. They divorced in 2007.
He worked for Flint Ink - production, shipping and receiving for 15 years. He was an avid hunter, enjoyed wood working, gun collecting, paint ball and NASCAR. Joseph's children were everything to him and he loved them dearly.
Surviving are a son, Joseph Duane Prater, Warsaw; a daughter, Madison Rose Prater, Warsaw; three brothers: Adam (and spouse Amber) Prater, Silver Lake; Eric (and spouse Tina) Prater, Wabash; and Jonathan (and spouse Clare) Prater, Houston, Texas; a sister, Melissa Sue Cupp, Warsaw; his mother, Bonnie Sue (and spouse Roy Andrew) Johnson, Warsaw; his father, John (and spouse Ruth) Prater, Centerville, Mo.; and a lifetime friend, Peter Peconga, Warsaw. He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
No service is planned.
Calling is from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday and noon to 3 p.m. Saturday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Home, Warsaw.
