Joseph Canzoneri, 89, died at 9:30 p.m. Feb. 5, 2011, in Peabody Retirement Community, North Manchester.

He was born Jan. 9, 1922, in Chicago, Ill., to Matteo and Rose Zito Canzoneri. On April 15, 1950, in Chicago, he married Evelyn E. Zeromski, who survives in North Manchester.

He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran, earning the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. He was a registered architect and a member Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Warsaw.

Also surviving are a daughter, Linn C. (and spouse Henry Buikema) Eisen-Buikema, Naples, Fla. He was preceded in death by a son, Joseph M. Canzoneri, who died May 31, 2001, and a sister, Carmela Canzoneri, who died May 10, 2008.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Warsaw, officiated by Father Philip DeVolter of the church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, River Grove, Ill.

Calling is one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the church.

Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, is in charge of arrangements.
