Back in the '70s, Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice turned a school project into one of the most successful family musicals, "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat."

The "colorful" biblical saga of Joseph and his coat of many colors comes to life in this musical parable.

Joseph, his father's favorite son, is a boy blessed with prophetic dreams. When he is sold into slavery by his jealous brothers and taken to Egypt, Joseph endures a series of adventures in which his spirit and humanity are continually challenged. Set to an engaging cornucopia of musical styles, from country-western and calypso to bubble-gum pop and Elvis-esque rock 'n' roll, this Old Testament tale emerges both timely and timeless.

Brandon Springman follows in the footsteps of many men portraying the title role of Joseph. A video version of the show appeared in 1999 starring Donny Osmond in that same role. Springman returns for his second season at the Wagon Wheel Theatre, where last year's audiences will remember him as the Tin Man in "The Wizard Of Oz" and Johnny in "The Unsinkable Molly Brown."

Erica Wilpon stars as the narrator.

The Ramada Wagon Wheel Theatre production of "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" is co-sponsored by Medtronic.
