Spec.4 Andrew Jones recently received the Bronze Star for his actions while under fire from a sniper during an engagement with insurgents in Iraq. His fellow soldiers in the 2nd Battalion, 28th Infantry Regiment of the 1st Calvary were pinned down. Jones stood by his weapon and neutralized the sniper. Jones is currently in Fort Sam Houston, Texas, undergoing treatment and evaluation from injuries sustained during a later rocket-propelled grenade attack. Jones is the son of John and Cyndi Routh, North Webster, and Chuck Jones, LaPorte.
