Butler and Elleree Johnson will mark their 50th wedding anniversary Feb. 12, 2008. Butler Johnson and Elleree Owens were married Feb. 12, 1958, at Southern Baptist Church, Tazewell, Va., with Russell Asbury officiating.
He retired from Zimmer Inc. and she is a homemaker.
The couple have three children: Karen (and spouse Dakota) Seals, the Rev. Rick (and spouse Martha) Johnson, and Phillip (and spouse June) Johnson. They have six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
The couple plan to celebrate the anniversary by taking a trip at a later date and with an open house hosted by the Rev. Rick Johnson and family from 2 to 4 p.m. Feb. 17 at Victory Rock Church, three miles south of Pierceton on Ind. 13, Pierceton.
