BOURBON — John Johns began his Triton coaching career with a victory Friday night in Bourbon. Hosting the Caston Comets, the Triton Trojans scored 18 second-quarter points, and used that momentum to get a 25-13 victory. In the win, Triton actually had fewer rushing yards, passing yards and first downs than its opponent, who committed 17 penalties for a whopping 150 yards. In his first start at quarterback, Grant Stichter was 6 of 11 for 46 yards and two touchdowns, one to Josey Farmwald and the other to Jeremy Jones. Jones also scored a defensive touchdown, recovering a fumble and taking it in for a score. On the ground, Cole Creighbaum led the Trojans with 42 yards and a score on 15 carries, while Stichter also ran the ball nine times for 23 yards. The 1-0 Trojans are back at home this Friday, hosting Northfield, a team that fell 39-13 at home against Bluffton in Week 1. TRITON 25, CASTON 13 T 0 18 7 0 – 25 C 0 0 0 13 – 13
