John Raymond Sprong

John Raymond Sprong, Warsaw, passed away on March 1, 2017, at Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw, at the age of 83.
He was born on May 10, 1933, in Warsaw, to John Waldo and Amanda Fahl Sprong. On Oct. 14, 1983, he was married to Sandra Kay Menzie, who survives in Warsaw.
John was a lifetime resident of Kosciusko County, where he was a 1951 Warsaw High School graduate. He served in the U.S. Army for two years and later attended International Business College in Fort Wayne. He worked as an accountant at Pierceton Trucking as well as Myer Levin & Sons Scrap Iron & Metal Inc., Warsaw. Most recently he was employed by the office of Wayne Township Trustee.
He was a member of North Winona Church of the Brethren, Warsaw. John enjoyed his travels with Sandy to South Carolina and Alabama, and most recently their special cruise to Alaska. Most of all, he was a loving, caring husband and grandfather.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 33 years, Sandra Kay Sprong, Warsaw; three sons: David Sprong, Warsaw; Troy (wife Bonnie) Long, Warsaw; and Tad (wife Kim) Long, Canal Winchester, Ohio; and two daughters,  Janet (husband Andy) Hartman, Columbia City, and Tracy (husband Brent) Reinholt, Warsaw. He also leaves behind 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a brother, Ralph (wife Shirley) Sprong, Warsaw; and his sister, Martha Molebash, Warsaw.
He was preceded by his parents and a brother, Roland Sprong.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw.
His funeral service will follow immediately at 1 p.m. at the funeral home, officiated by Pastor Mike Smith. A graveside service will follow at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
