MENTONE – John R. Amburgy, 54, of 761 Cottonwood Lane, Rochester, died at 2:38 a.m. July 14, 2012, in his residence.
He was born Oct. 8, 1957, in Prestonburg, Ky., to Charles D. and Velma Newsome Amburgy. On Aug. 27, 2005, in Warsaw, he married Kattie Yates Miller, who survives.
He was a general laborer in different area companies. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps.
Also surviving are two sons, Johney (and spouse Jackie) Amburgy and Corey (and spouse Mariah) Amburgy, all of Fort Wayne; a daughter, Rachael Amburgy, Mentone; a sister, Willa Pitts, Warsaw; and three brothers: Harlan Amburgy, Mentone; Phillip (and spouse Tina) Amburgy, Rochester; and Rick Amburgy, Fort Wayne.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at King Memorial Home, Mentone, with Pastor Dean Ealey officiating. Burial will be in Mentone Cemetery. Calling is from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. ***** Memorials may be made to the family of John R. Amburgy.
