John "Poppie" "Daddio" Lenick, 78, dearly beloved father, of 3375 W. CR 100N, Warsaw, entered into Heaven at 5:45 p.m. Oct. 29, 2009, in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw, while surrounded by his children.
He was born May 26, 1931, in Darkwater, Pa.
Most recently a resident of North Manchester and Warsaw, he also was a long-time resident of East Liberty, Ohio; South Bend; Baltimore, Md.; Dover, Del.; and Middleport, Pa. He was a U.S. Navy veteran. He was a hobbyist pilot, fisherman, watercolor artist, great father and fast friend to everyone he met.
Surviving are four children: Rosa (and spouse Big Jim); Michael (and spouse Lynne); Susan (and spouse Byron); and Stacy (and spouse Robert); grandchildren: Matt, Randi (and spouse Mike), Nikki (and spouse Brandon), Melanie, Tyler, Austin, Ashleigh, Gillian, Sawyer, Ariel (and spouse Josey), DaLynn, Justin, Kiersten, Austin, Beccaline; and Alysha; great-grandchildren: Dallas, Madison, Kaylie, Madeline and Brian; a great-grand-dog, Dexter; sisters, Tootsie, Helen, Rosalie (and spouse Phil), Patsy and Sandra; and a brother, Adam. He was preceded in death by his first son, John; a brother, Andrew; two sisters, Julie and Gloria; a brother, Michael; and a cat, Snitty.
Services and calling will be private. Burial will be in Marion National Cemetery.
