John M. Leek, 81, Warsaw, passed away at 6 a.m. Jan. 31, 2014, in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw. He was born Feb. 22, 1932, in East Point, Ky., to Samuel and Martha Moles Leek. He was a lifetime resident of Warsaw. He was employed by Leek’s Shell Service of Warsaw where he was co-owner. In addition, he was employed by the Dalton Gang of Warsaw as an application driver, Nelson Brothers Mobile Home Service and Chapman Lake Marina. He was a volunteer firefighter for the Warsaw Fire Department, a member of American Legion Post #49, VFW Post #1126 and Elks Lodge BPOE #802. He faithfully served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict from 1951 to 1955. Survivors include four sons: John M. (and spouse Tammy) Jr., Joe M., Jack (and spouse Teresa) and Jeff (and spouse Trudy) Leek, all of Warsaw; a brother, Bob (and spouse Eileen) Leek, Warsaw; two sisters, Ethel Schuch, Elkhart, and Vivian (and spouse Jerry) Kelly, Warsaw; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by five brothers: Sam, Elmer, Merl, Francis “Mouse” and Glen “Jug” Leek and a sister, Ellen Nichols. Services will be at a later date. No calling is planned.
