NAPPANEE – John H. Miller, 91, of Bremen, died of natural causes at 11:35 p.m. Sept. 21, 2012, in his residence.
He was born April 2, 1921, in Nappanee, to Jacob L. and Katie Ann Mast Miller. On Nov. 11, 1947, he married Fannie Matilda Yoder, who survives.
He lived in Mt. Eaton, Ohio, for a short period of time and lived in the Nappanee area most of his life. He was a carpenter, machinist and a blacksmith, and retired from Eby Auto Sales. He was a member of Northwood Chapel, Nappanee, and volunteered for Chuck Colson Prison Ministries.
Also surviving are his children: Ruth (and spouse Mike) Meine, Portsmouth, Va.; Sarah Friend, Goshen; Abraham (and spouse Donna) Miller, White Pigeon, Mich.; Lucinda (and spouse Donnie) Gaut, Nappanee; Elam Lavern (and spouse Diane) Miller, Sherman, Texas; Robert Devon Miller, Fort Wayne; and Keith (and spouse Roxanne) Miller, Bremen; 33 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lydia Mae Schmucker, Nappanee, and Susie Miller, Eau Claire, Wis.; and brother, Monroe Miller, Medford, Wis. He was preceded in death by four sisters and three brothers.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Northwood Chapel with Pastor Larry Pletcher officiating. Burial will be in South Union Cemetery.
Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee, and one hour prior to the service Tuesday at the church. ***** Memorials may be given to the Northwood Chapel.
