John Edward “Huck” Barry, 68, of Warsaw, passed away at noon July 8, 2011, in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw, after a prolonged illness.
He was born Sept. 19, 1942, in Atlanta, Ga., to James Robert and Clara Marie Leahey Barry. On Nov. 28, 1963, in Warsaw, he married Margaret “Maggie” Eileen Droke, who survives.
He was a former Lebanon resident, where he graduated high school. Moving to Warsaw, he retired after a 40-year career at R.R. Donnelleys & Sons as a color retoucher. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Warsaw; Warsaw Elks Lodge; Warsaw Moose Lodge; and Rozella Ford Golf Course, where he held a lifetime membership. He loved his grandchildren and great-grandchild, and was an avid golf and sports enthusiast. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, who will be deeply missed.
Also surviving are two sons, Andrew (and spouse Linette) Barry, Fort Wayne, and Greg (and spouse Amy) Barry, Warsaw; three daughters, Jennifer (and spouse Cooper) Stutzman and Pam Barry, all of Warsaw, and Nancy (and spouse David) England, Mentone; two sisters, Karen Barry, Indianapolis, and MaryPat Stanhope, West Palm, Fla.; a brother, Daniel Barry, West Palm; grandchildren: Tiffany (and spouse Lance) Everts, Wes and Bryce England and Jacob and Caley Stutzman; and a great-grandchild, Zoey Everts. His parents and brothers, Tim and Jim Barry, preceded him in death.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Warsaw, with Father Phillip DeVolder officiating. Burial will be in Mock Cemetery, North Webster. Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, with a rosary service at 7:30 p.m.
