SABINA, Ohio – John E. “Jack” Marker Jr, 80, Bowersville, passed from this life March 29, 2014, at his residence. He was born Feb. 14, 1934, in Cincinnati to John and Sudie Belle Calvert Marker Sr. He was married to Myra, who died March 26, 2013. He served in the U.S. Army, and had retired from the R.R. Donnelley Co. In retirement he worked at the Wilmington Walmart in maintenance. A very active and faithful member of the Sabina Church of Christ in Christian Union, he loved to sing, work puzzles, bowl and listen to the Reds on radio, and he appreciated gospel music. Surviving are five children: Marcia Marker, Bowersville; Theresa (and spouse Jim) Hawkins, Jamestown; Kim Cruz, Chillicothe; Dewayne (and spouse Debbie) Marker, Washington C.H.; and Daryl Marker, Sabina; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; two siblings, Geraldine (and spouse Bob) Bowman, Goshen, and Gene (and spouse Vera) Marker, Cincinnati. He was preceded in death by a grandson, one sister, two brothers and a son-in-law. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Sabina Church of Christ in Christian Union. Burial is in Woodlawn Cemetery, Bowersville. Calling is from noon until time of service at the church.
