John Danilson, 89, Warsaw, passed away at 8 a.m. July 3, 2014, at his residence. He was born May 7, 1925, in Manson, Wash., to James Garfield and Evalina Moses Danilson. On June 29, 1956, he married June Wymer, who survives in Warsaw. He graduated from Chelan High School in Chelan, Wash., in 1942. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1942, serving during World War II and was honorably discharged in 1945. He attended George Washington University, taking journalism, then transferred to the University of Missouri where he continued his journalism studies and graduated. He worked as a journalist in Abilene, Texas, and Seattle, Wash., for a number of years, and he was an editor and writer for many years for the Union Gospel Press in Cleveland, Ohio. In 1960 he attended Dallas Theological Seminary and graduated in 1964. He was a resident of Kosciusko County for the past 38 years where he was a member of Pleasant View Bible Church in Warsaw, and for the past 50 years he worked in many ministry positions. Also surviving are a daughter, Ruth Rome, Warsaw; and two grandchildren, Lindsay and Drew Romeo, both of South Bend. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Mark Danilson, in 1976; a daughter, Judy Danilson, in 1998; three sisters and two brothers. No visitation or services are planned.
