WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – John Broocks Dalton, 85, passed away Feb. 6, 2016. He was born Jan. 14, 1931, in Chicago, Ill., to Jerome Broocks and Donald Alexander Dalton. He grew up in Warsaw and attended Warsaw Community School and graduated from Texas Military Institute. He studied engineering at Vanderbilt University before serving time as a corporal in the U.S. Army, Knoxville, Tenn. He returned to Warsaw to rejoin Dalton Foundaries, where he later bought Big Boy Products, the automotive aftermarket division, and remained president from 1966 until its sale in 1985. He was a competitive golfer and divided his time between courses in Highlands Country Club, Highlands, N.C., and Atlantis Golf Club, Atlantis, Fla. He was an irrepressible White Sox fan and also loved his friends at the gin rummy table. He was a loyal friend to many and will be missed in so many ways and by so many friends and family. Surviving are a daughter, Elizabeth (and spouse Stephen) Sadosky, Dalton. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Gretchen; a son, Broocks; his wife of 44 years, Nancy Bell Dalton; and later wife of 10 years, Jodine Francis Dalton.
