NAPPANEE - John A. Fisher, 64, of 2165 E. Market St., Nappanee, died at 9:20 p.m. March 14, 2009, in his residence, after a battle with cancer for 2-1/2 years.
He was born Aug. 17, 1944, in Goshen, to Everett Oliver and Dorothy Adams Fisher. On June 17, 1972, in Elkhart, he married Kay E. Stutzman, who survives.
A lifetime area resident, he last worked at Americana Tire and Wheel, Elkhart. He was a member of Nappanee Conservation Club.
Also surviving are four daughters: Michelle Kae (and spouse Kevin) VanderMolen, Melbourne, Fla.; Rosanna (and spouse Donald) Butler and Lisa Rene Fisher, all of Goshen; and Loralie Dawn (and spouse Steve) Baxter, Bourbon; two sons: Jerry Albert (and spouse Shari) Fisher, Elkhart; Edward J. Fisher, Goshen; and Scott Eugene Fisher, Nappanee; 15 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Georgia Jacquelin Zinkiew, Beverly (and spouse Fred) Johnson and Sallee Black, all of Nappanee; and three brothers, Randy (and spouse Sharon) Fisher and Denny (and spouse Beth) Fisher, all of Nappanee, and Reggie (and spouse Denise) Fisher, Elkhart. He was preceded in death by two brothers.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee, with Pastor Marvin Engbrecht officiating. Burial will be in South Union Cemetery.
Calling is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
