Joe W. Reffitt, 77, of Claypool, passed away at 8:30 a.m. Nov. 30, 2011, in Bremen Health Care Center.
On March 27, 1934, in Floyd County, Ky., he was born to Dan and Martha Marsilett Reffitt. On June 9, 1956, in Prestonsburg, Ky., he married Josephine Adams, who died Sept. 26, 1992.
Moving to Claypool in 1959, he worked for Gatke Inc. and then worked for Creighton Brothers. He was a member of Claypool Pentecostal Church of God.
Surviving are two daughters, JoAnn (and spouse Joe) Bradley, Claypool, and Kim (and spouse Kelly) Schneider, Bremen; a son, Wayne (and spouse Richelle) Reffitt, Silver Lake; three grandsons, Joshua Bradley, Warsaw, and Kellen and Kasey Schneider, both of Bremen; a granddaughter, Jessica Bradley, Claypool; a brother, Floyd Gene (and spouse Ann) Reffitt, Warsaw; and a sister, Josephine Yates, Warsaw. He also was preceded in death by a daughter, Vickie Reffitt; three brothers; and seven sisters.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, 2290 Provident Court, Warsaw, with Pastor Terry Bradford officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Claypool.
Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. today and one hour prior to the service Tuesday at the funeral home.
