NAPPANEE - Joe H. Schwartz, 90, of 9906 W. CR 600N, Etna Green, died at 1:22 p.m. June 18, 2008, in Plymouth Hospital.
He was born Jan. 2, 1918, in Kosciusko County, to John L. and Maryann Burkholder Schwartz. On Oct. 3, 1940, he married Martha Slabaugh, who died July 11, 1993.
A lifetime area resident, he was a member of Old Order Amish Church.
Surviving are four sons, Walter R. (and spouse Arlene) Schwartz, Lloyd (and spouse Mary) Schwartz and Delbert (and spouse Sylvia) Schwartz, all of Etna Green, and Marvin (and spouse Naomi) Schwartz, Sparta, Tenn.; two daughters, Louise (and spouse Calvin) Barber, Bourbon, and Edna (and spouse Alvin) Miller, Nicaragua, Central America; 59 grandchildren; 107 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Dan Schwartz, Monroe, and John Schwartz, Nappanee; and a sister, Lovina Helmuth, Nappanee. He was preceded in death by a son, a daughter, a grandson, four brothers and four sisters.
Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the Lloyd Schwartz residence at 9729 W. CR 575N, Etna Green, with Bishop Earl E. Miller officiating. Burial will be in Graber Cemetery.
Calling is after 3 p.m. today and all day Friday at the Lloyd Schwartz residence.
