Country musician Joe Diffie is the headlining entertainer for Warsaw Parks Department’s summer concert series.
Warsaw Board Of Public Works and Safety approved a $15,000 contract during Friday’s meeting for the performance.
The country concert is July 19 at 8 p.m. at the Glover Pavilion in Central Park.
A $1,000 contract was approved for Kyxx, an Anderson-based classic rock band to perform June 14 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Central Park as the opener for the classic rock concert.
The headliner for the classic rock concert still needs to be named as well as the performers for the blues and barbecue concert.
The board also approved agreements between Warsaw Parks Department and Warsaw Community High School and Lakeview Middle School to serve as possible rain locations for the parks department’s Central Park concert series.
The cost is $400 to use the Lakeview auditorium and gym and $750 plus custodial fees per use of the WCHS Tiger Den.
The board also approved a contract between Warsaw Parks Department and Signature Tree Company for the spraying of maple trees at Center and Pike Lake and Central Park for cottony-cushion maple scale disease.
The board also approved the parks department applying for a $5,000 Indiana Arts Commission Grant. The grant would be used to continue support for the Central Park concert series.
The board also approved contracts between Sands Office Equipment and the parks, building and planning, mayor’s office and Warsaw Fire Department for maintenance agreements for copiers.
The board approved a $32,918.40 payment to Harold McComb & Son Inc. for work done on the city hall.
