PIERCETON - Joan Walls, 88, of 4933 S. CR 675E, Pierceton, died at 7:15 a.m. July 19, 2009, in Grace Village Health Care, Winona Lake, where she resided since 2007.
She was born Martha Joan Galbreath July 30, 1920, north of Pierceton, to Roy Lee and Etha Rider Galbreath. On March 4, 1941, she married Bud Walls of Pierceton, who died May 9, 1986.
Living in the Pierceton area most of her life, she retired from Pierceton Foods and attended Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, Warsaw.
Surviving is a son, Wendell (and spouse Loretta) Walls, Warsaw. She also was preceded in death by three brothers, Burrell, Moody and Samuel Levi Galbreath, and four sisters, Adolin Garrison, Evelyn Franks and Ruby and Myrtle Alice Galbreath.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Pierceton, with Pastor Judy Adams officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Pierceton.
Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
