Joan V. Brown, 85, Warsaw, passed away at 3:50 p.m. Sept. 17, 2015, in Millers Merry Manor, Warsaw.
She was born Jan. 25, 1930, in London, England, to Charles Samuel and Francis Louise Hewitt Hampton. On June 21, 1953, in Warsaw, was united in marriage to Arnold Brown, who preceded her in death Nov. 18, 1985.
She moved to Warsaw from England in 1952. She worked for Petro’s Restaurant then Rozella Ford Golf Course, Warsaw. She then worked for Holiday Inn for over 25 years, retiring in 1995.
She was a member of Warsaw Evangelical Presbyterian Church and The Salvation Army Ladies Auxiliary, Warsaw. She loved to sew and knit and enjoyed cooking for her family and spending time with them. She was proud of her British heritage, and was a hard worker and dedicated to her job.
Surviving are four children: Steve (and spouse Judy) Brown, Tracey Grose and Scott (and spouse Dawn) Brown, all of Warsaw; and Michael (and spouse Lisa) Brown, Wapakoneta, Ohio; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, five sisters, three brothers and her son-in-law, Alan Grose.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday in the funeral chapel.
