NORTH MANCHESTER – Joan J. Poe, 81, North Manchester, died at 7:39 a.m. Oct. 20, 2012, in Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne.
She was born Sept. 21, 1931, in Waterloo, to Marion and Esther Benjamin Dirr. On July 17, 1984, she married Roger L. Poe, who died Sept. 7, 2005.
She retired from Heckman Bindery after 43 years of service. She graduated from Eden Ohio High School in 1949. She was a member of Women of Moose Lodge 1518, North Manchester.
Surviving are three sons: Greg A. Houser, LaFontaine; Neil W. (and spouse Cindy) Houser, Kasilof, Ark.; and Dennis L. (and spouse Valerie) Houser, North Manchester; a sister, Marcella Peppler, Fort Wayne; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by a son.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at McKee Mortuary, North Manchester, with Pastor J.P. Freeman officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery, North Manchester.
