Jo Ann Reed Pound, 84, a longtime resident of Kosciusko County, passed away on Monday, July 15, 2019, at 7:39 p.m. in Winona Lake, Ind. She was born on Feb. 16, 1935, to Ronald and Doris Grant Reed in Plymouth, Ind. She was united in marriage on Nov. 3, 1954, to Loren J. Pound.
She graduated from Warsaw High School in 1953. She was a full-time homemaker and helped to manage the Pound family farm. She was a true helpmate to Loren. She was a member of the Leesburg Methodist Church for many years, serving in various capacities. She loved her family and the family farm. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Loren Pound; daughters: Terrie (Stan) Trout, of Fort Wayne, Ind.; Karen (Doug) Conley, of Westerville, Ohio; and Linda (Jim) Howard, of Leesburg, Ind.; a son, Jeff Pound, of Leesburg; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. In addition, Jo Ann is survived by two brothers, Max Reed, of Warsaw, and Robert Reed, of Chicago, Ill., formerly having resided in Syracuse, Ind.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a great-grandson.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 18, from 4 to 7 p.m. in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. A celebration of her life will be held on Friday, July 19, at 11 a.m. Chaplain Bryan Benjamin will officiate the service in the funeral chapel.
Interment will be in Leesburg Cemetery, Leesburg, Ind.
