Jesse Clifford Bailey, 85, of 2772 N. Lakeview Drive, Warsaw, died at 10:40 p.m. Sept. 6, 2007, at Mason's Health Care and Rehab, Warsaw.
He was born Aug. 4, 1922, in Knightstown to Jesse Sr. and Blanche Marie Dashler Bailey. On June 12, 1942, he married Roberta Shields, who survives.
Moving to Kosciusko County from Anderson, he lived at Hoffman Lake for 21 years. He worked at General Motors for 45 years in Anderson, in skilled trades doing sheet metal fabrication at Delco Remey. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving during World War II. He was a member of Atwood Adersgate Methodist Church. Since 1964, he was a member of the Solar Lodge Masonic Temple, Anderson, serving as Master Mason.
Also surviving are a daughter, Sarah Grills, Anderson; a son, Stephen Bailey, Williamsburg; a sister, Elsie Kidd, Anderson; a brother, Charles W. Bailey, Roanoke, Va.; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, a brother and a son, Jeffrey Bailey.
Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, with the Rev. Michael Lawson officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw, with military honors by American Legion Post 49, Warsaw.
Calling is one hour prior to services Tuesday at the funeral chapel.
