WINCHESTER – Jerry Tharp Rust Chandler, 77, of Leesburg, and formerly of Winchester, passed away Dec. 27, 2012, in Mason Health and Rehab, Warsaw. She was born Oct. 8, 1935, in Winchester, to James and Helen Byrne Tharp. She married Allen Rust, who died in 1989. She married James Chandler, who died in 2009. She was a homemaker and enjoyed arts and crafts. Surviving are two sisters, Linda McGairk, Muncie, and Mary Jane (and spouse Thomas) Jakway, Cape Coral, Fla.; a stepson, Buddy (and spouse Patti) Chandler, Warsaw; four stepdaughters: Mary (and spouse James) Conway, North Webster; Kathy Hutchinson, Alabama; Anita (and spouse Jack) Stump, Silver Lake; and Connie Chandler, Pierceton; a special nephew, Jerry Rust, Winchester; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She also was preceded in death by her parents and a nephew, Brian Collins. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Walker Funeral Home, Winchester, with her stepson, Buddy Chandler, officiating.
