Jerry Lee StutzmanJerry Lee Stutzman, 79, of Syracuse, passed away at 8:50 p.m. on Wednesday, June 24, 2020, at Avalon Village Healthcare in Ligonier.
He was born on May 2, 1941, in Hutchison County, Kan., to Jerry J. and Alma Stutzman Stutzman.
He graduated in 1959 from Atwood High School and was a United States Army veteran. He was married on Jan. 20, 1963, in North Manchester, to Sally K. Yoder, who survives, and moved to Syracuse in 1965 from Wakarusa. He was a meat cutter in Nappanee, Syracuse and Milford for 20-plus years, former owner/operator of Voortman Cookie Route and along with his brothers’ owned a cleaning service in Syracuse for many years.
He was a member of the Hope Church in Atwood and formerly attended the Church of God in Syracuse.
He is survived by wife, Sally Stutzman, of Syracuse; two sons: Tod Stutzman, of Indianapolis; and Scott (Chuck Ratliff) Stutzman, of Galloway, Ohio; four sisters: Clara Bell Yoder, of Plain City, Ohio; Rosetta Coblentz, of Sarasota, Fla.; Elfreda (Richard) Ward, of Plymouth; and Marie Myers, of Warsaw; and brother, Larry Stutzman, of Plymouth.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters: Frances Cox and Alice Powers; and brother, William Stutzman.
Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, June 28 at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 29 at Hope Church, 2134 N. CR 700W, Warsaw, (Atwood) with Pastor Randy Foreman officiating. Burial will follow in the Stoney Point Cemetery.
