Jerry L. Titus, 69, passed away on Wednesday, Oct 4, 2017, at 2:10 p.m. in Fort Wayne’s Lutheran Hospital. Jerry was a lifetime Warsaw resident.
Jerry was born on Dec. 24, 1947, in Warsaw, to Ned C. and Maryon L. Circle Titus. He graduated from Warsaw High School in 1966 and from Indiana College of Mortuary Science in 1974.
Jerry Titus was a United States Army veteran who served during the Vietnam War. Private Jerry L. Titus was honorably discharged on Nov. 22, 1971.
Jerry was united in marriage to Kathy Worman, originally of Plymouth, on Oct. 10, 1993, in Warsaw. Together the two shared many happy memories and nearly 24 years.
He was the proud owner of Titus Funeral Home in Warsaw and a longtime member of the Warsaw Breakfast Optimist Club. He was also a member of the American Legion and a lifetime member of Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a very active member of Trinity United Methodist Church and was certified as a lay speaker through the Methodist Church. He was an avid Indy 500, NASCAR, Cubs baseball and Notre Dame football fan.
Those with memories to treasure include his wife, Kathy, of Warsaw; five children; 13 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; two aunts; several cousins; a mother-in-law; a sister-in-law; many friends and his two godchildren. His parents and a brother preceded him in passing.
Family and friends will gather for a time of visitation and to share memories on Thursday, Oct. 12 from 3 to 7 p.m. in Titus Funeral Home, 2000 E. Sheridan St., Warsaw. Jerry’s life will be further celebrated in a funeral servic,e which is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 13 at 11 a.m. with the Reve. Dave Hummel officiating. There also will be calling for one hour prior to the funeral.
A graveside service will be conducted following the funeral in Warsaw’s Oakwood Cemetery where Jerry will be entombed in the family mausoleum. The service will be officiated by Pastor Ernie Troxell of Trinity United Methodist Church. Military honors will be paid by members of the American Legion, VFW and active-duty members of the U.S. Army.
