Jerry E. Eccles
Jerry E. Eccles, 63, of North Webster, died at 3:08 p.m. April 10, 2011, in Woodlawn Hospital, Rochester.
He was born June 17, 1947, in Muncie, to Hiram Edmund and Alma Esta Ritchie Eccles. On Oct. 29, 1966, in Muncie, he married Jo Etta Williams, who survives.
Moving to North Webster from Warsaw three years ago, he was a self-employed contractor; a minister in Canada; he and his wife ran the 2008-09 homeless shelter at New Life Christian Church; led men’s prayer meetings in their home for seven years; and assisted his son, Robert, in his shop, Brothers Archery and Sport, North Webster. He was a member of Kosco Gun Club, enjoyed fishing, hunting, trap and skeet and camping. He was a loving and forgiving husband and father and loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Also surviving are five daughters: Sandra (and spouse Jon) Scott, Claypool; Elisabeth Fitzpatrick, Warsaw; Sara (and spouse Josh) Craig, Twelve Mile; Jo Anna Eccles, North Webster; and Joy Eccles, Bloomington; two sons, Mitchell (and spouse Misty) Eccles, Rochester, and Robert Eccles (and fiancee Melissa Garver), North Webster; nine grandchildren: Jesse, Ryan, Savanah, Blake, Crystal, Roger, Keith, Jeffrey and Allison; a brother, James Eccles, Granbury, Texas; and a sister, Mary Jane Eiler, Muncie. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, with Pastor Charles Reason officiating. Burial will be in Washington Union Cemetery, Pierceton.
Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
