AKRON - Jerry D. Maple, 53, of 10850 Ind. 14E, Akron, died at 9:40 p.m. April 28, 2008, at Parkview Memorial Hospital, Fort Wayne.
He was born Dec. 1, 1954, in Warsaw, to J. Richard Maple and Helen Waneta Kendall. On June 3, 1978, in North Manchester, he married Nayomia Lester Dotson, who survives in Akron.
He was a truck driver, He graduated from North Manchester High School in 1973.
Surviving are two sons, Jerry Maple Jr., Rochester, and Travis Michael (and spouse Danielle) Maple, Fort Wayne; a stepson, James Edward (and spouse Lorraine) Dotson, El Paso, Texas; a stepdaughter, Jennifer (and spouse Eric) Murphy, Akron; two brothers, Jay (and spouse Nancy) Maple, Pleasant Prairie, Wis., and Jeff Maple, Rochester; and seven grandchildren.
Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Hartzler Funeral Home, Akron, with the Rev. Karen Ottjes officiating. A graveside service will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in Grant Memorial Park, Marion.
Calling is one hour prior to services Wednesday at the funeral home.
