Jeremiah ‘Jeremy’ Jo ZileJeremiah “Jeremy” Jo Zile, of Elkhart, and formerly of Warsaw, passed away unexpectedly at 7:26 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 9, 2021, at Memorial Hospital of South Bend, at the age of 46.

He was born on Aug. 30, 1974, in Silver Lake, one of seven children born to Deborah Ann Allen Zile and Philip “Phil” Alan Zile. Jeremy grew up surrounded by his large family and always had plenty of shoulders to lean on. He was married on Oct. 6, 2016, to Heather Suzanne McCartney Zile, who survives. Together they combined their families and had more people to love.

Jeremy was a 1994 graduate of North Manchester High School in North Manchester, where he participated in several sports, including tennis, swimming and track. He then attended I.P.F.W. in Fort Wayne for two years. Throughout his life, he had worked various jobs, having worked for a number of years in the orthopedic industry and then he worked as a salesman in the heavy-duty equipment industry.

He had recently moved and had been a resident of Elkhart County for about a year. Jeremy always had a love and appreciation of the outdoors where he could get away from the distractions of day-to-day life. Being an outdoorsy person who loved spending time in his backyard creating long lasting memories with those that he cared about, he could be found most weekends on the lake and sharing moments with all the special friends and family in his life! He dearly loved his family and his family LOVED him very much in return.  Jeremy left a lasting and unforgettable impression on the hearts of ALL who were fortunate enough to have known him.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Heather Suzanne Zile, Elkhart; three sons: Logan (Kiersten) Zile, Decatur, Mich.; Isaac Merrill, Elkhart; Austin Zile, Warsaw; six daughters: Jenna Merrill, Elkhart; Yessenia Merrill, Elkhart; Adrianna (Caleb) Torson, Fort Wayne; Ella Merrill, Elkhart; Naveya Merrill, Elkhart; and Megan Zile, Warsaw.  He also leaves behind his parents: Deborah and Phil Zile, Silver Lake; two brothers: Travis Zile, Silver Lake; Jamie (Betsy) Zile, Noblesville; and four sisters: Traci (Regen) Lehman, Middlebury; Katie (Josh) Cumberland, North Manchester; Kasie (Andy) Eberly, North Manchester; Kyla (David) Lash, Mentone.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents.

Jeremy’s life will be celebrated with a memorial service at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 14 at Warsaw Community Church, 1855 S. County Farm Road, Warsaw, and officiated by his brother, Jamie Zile. Friends and family are invited to share time with the family prior to the service from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Warsaw Community Church. He will be laid to rest at a later date at Lakeview Cemetery in Silver Lake.

Arrangements were entrusted to Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw.
