Jennifer ShepherdJennifer Shepherd, 60, of Warsaw, passed away on Monday, Nov. 8, 2021, at her home.
Born on Sept. 22, 1961, in Blue Island, Ill., Jennifer was the daughter of Robert Mitchell, of Rochester, and Edith Pottharst Gühlcke, of Lübeck, Germany.
She was a graduate of Rochester High School in 1980 and continued her education, receiving a Bachelor of Arts in speech communication and theatre from Manchester College and obtained her Master of Arts in higher education administration from Kent State University, Ohio, in 1986.
She worked as a school administrator for Huntington North High School. She previously worked in alumni relations for Manchester University. The beginning of her career was spent as a teacher and assistant principal at Warsaw for 20 years, with two years spent at Rochester. Jennifer was a board member of the Wagon Wheel Theatre and the Wagon Wheel Community Theatre chairperson.
Jennifer is survived by a son, Peter Shepherd, of Warsaw; daughter, Emily Shepherd, of Warsaw; companion, Randal Clayton; sister, Stephanie Augustin, of Port Aransas, Texas.
She was preceded in passing by a son, Daniel Shepherd; and brother, Robert Mitchell.
A visitation is planned from 3 to 5 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 15 at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. A memorial service in celebration of her life will begin at 5 p.m. in the funeral chapel. Pastor Glenn Hall will officiate the services. Interment will be at a later date.
Masks are optional, and social distancing is encouraged. No food is permitted at this time.
