Jeffery Bryant Shaw, 40, Warsaw, died at 4:15 p.m. Nov. 12, 2009, from injuries sustained in the line of duty on Ind. 14, west of CR 100E.

He was born July 20, 1969, in Warsaw, to Orlie and Beverly Skees Shaw, both survive. On Oct. 14, 2000, he married Angelia "Angie" Young, who also survives.

He was a lifetime Kosciusko County resident. He was a sergeant in the patrol division of the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department, where he was an 11-year veteran. He formerly served in the jail division and was a member of the department's FACT team. He was also a former sheriff's reserve office from 1992 to 1994.

He was a member and past vice president of FOP 149, Warsaw Masonic Lodge 73 and Fort Wayne Scottish Rite.

Also surviving are a son, Nickolas Shaw, at home; a daughter, Isabella Shaw, at home; two brothers, Chris and Sam Shaw, both of Warsaw; two sisters, Toni Reiff and Billijo Shaw, both of Warsaw; mother-in-law, Carolyn Young, and significant other, John McFarren, Warsaw; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Todd and Holly Sautter, Leesburg; four nephews: C.J. Kester, Bryant Shaw, Michael Sautter, Garrett Sautter; two nieces, Darian Kester and Shawna Sautter; and an honorary brother, Chad Marsh, South Whitley. He was preceded in death by a father-in-law, John A. Young.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Warsaw Community Church, 2300 Ranch Road, Warsaw, with Pastor Denny Wilson officiating. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery with full honor guard detail.

Calling is from 1 to 8 p.m. Monday at the church.

A private Masonic memorial service will be conducted by masters and past masters of Kosciusko County lodges.

McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, is handling arrangements.
