Jefferson Elementary second-grade students have been making seasonal placemats for residents at Grace Village for three years now. The initial idea was born out of a conversation between second-grade teacher Tami Williamson and her friend, who is a nurse at Grace Village. The decision was to make placemats that were representative of each season, and to have each second-grade class – since Jefferson has four – pick one of the seasons on which to focus their creative efforts. Pictured are Debbie DeMuth’s students with their winter placemats.
