WINONA LAKE - Anyone who ever wanted to see the improvements and renovations to Jefferson Elementary School will get their chance this weekend.
The school is hosting an open house Sunday from 6 to 7 p.m. According to Principal Denny Duncan, it's a community open house and the whole building will be open for viewing.
Jackson Construction is the contractor for the Jefferson School project. Duncan said the construction company will be on hand Sunday.
Oldies 98.3 WIOE will broadcast from Jefferson.
Claypool Elementary had an open house in June, and Duncan said that had a huge turn out. People are curious what the new and renovated schools are like, Duncan said, so Warsaw Community Schools is hosting an open house for each one.
Besides Claypool and Jefferson, new Madison and Leesburg elementary schools have been constructed. Open houses will be held for each of them.
For Sunday's open house at Jefferson, Duncan said they will have cookies from 1000 Park Bakery. It will be very informal. Most of the staff will be on hand, and people can either take a tour or just walk around.A second open house just for the Jefferson Elementary School family will be Aug. 15. At that open house, Duncan said, students can find out who their teachers are and where their classes will be. Parents will be able to talk to teachers that night, too.
