Jeanette ‘Jeanie’ HolbrookBOURBON – Jeanette "Jeanie" Holbrook, age 57, of Bourbon, passed away on Friday, May 27, 2022, at her home in the care of her loving family.
Jeanie was born in Prestonsburg, Ky., on May 30, 1964, to Dallas and Leora Baldridge Manuel. She was a lifelong resident of Bourbon. She graduated from Triton High School in 1983. She married Terry Holbrook on Feb. 18, 1995. Although they didn't have children, they loved and cared for their nieces and nephews as if they were their own children, and the nieces and nephews all love Aunt Jeanie and Uncle Terry as if they were Mom and Dad.
Jeanie had a strong faith in the Lord as was evidenced every day up until the Lord called her home to be with Him. She posted something inspirational on her Facebook page every day in hopes that it would help lead someone to Christ. Her health didn't prevent her from reaching the world around her! She loved her family and would call to check on aunts, uncles and cousins living out of state. She called all of her sisters every day to see how they were doing, and she always ended the call by saying, "I love you." Her phone calls will be sorely missed.
Jeanette worked as the floral manager of Marsh Supermarket in Warsaw, and also as a manager of Fashion Plus and she was an assistant manager at Fashion Bug. Jeanie loved to cook and care for her family. She always looked forward to serving up her Southern style meals and hosting lunch for the family every Sunday. Everyone was welcome to come and enjoy her Southern hospitality and good Southern cookin’! Family members being together on Sunday was one of the most important things to Jeanie and you didn't need to be related to be considered "family.” No one ever leaves Jeanie and Terry's home feeling hungry or unloved.
Jeanie is survived by her husband, Terry; her sisters: Anita Haines and Patricia Manuel, of Bourbon; and Dalana "Gale" (Adrian) Bradley, of Silver Lake; along with several nieces and nephews.
Jeanette is preceded in death by her parents, Dallas and Leora Manuel; and her grandparents: Edward and Polly Manuel and Monroe and Ollie Baldridge.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on May 31 at the Bourbon First United Methodist Church, 204 N. Washington St., Bourbon.
Funeral service will be held on June 1 at 10:30 a.m. at the Bourbon First United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at the Tippecanoe Cemetery, Tippecanoe.
