Jean Knisely, 91, Syracuse, passed away Aug. 8, 2015, at the IU Health Goshen Hospital. She was born Aug. 3, 1924, in Peru, to James and Elva Miles Connell. On Sept. 19, 1952, she married Orville Knisely, who preceded her in 1972. She was a Syracuse resident since 1948, coming from Fort Wayne. She retired from the accounting department at Liberty Homes after 26 years. She was a longtime member of the St. Andrews United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the church choir. She was also a member of the Syracuse Mothers Club. Surviving are two sons, Orville Lynn (and spouse Barbara) Knisely, Chrubusco, and Richard James "Jamie" (and spouse Renee) Knisely, Pierceton; a daughter, Rebecca (and spouse Michael) Harris, New Paris; seven grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. She also was preceded by her sister Kate Connell. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Andrews United Methodist Church, with Pastor Mike Neff officiating. Burial is in Syracuse Cemetery.
