COLUMBIA CITY – Jean Ann Tschantz, 64, of Fort Wayne, passed away at 1:59 p.m. May 14, 2012, in Lutheran Hospital of Indiana, Fort Wayne.

She was born May 28, 1947, in Huntington, to Carl Raymond and Lois Maxine Deal Bruch. On Oct. 11, 1969, in Warren, she married John f. Tschantz, who survives.

She graduated from Clear Creek High School in 1965 and attended business college in Indianapolis. She lived in Goblesville until 1969, and moved from South Whitley in the mid 1970s to her current residence in Fort Wayne. She was a secretary at Old Crown Brewery, Fort Wayne; was a manager at Dawn Donuts, Fort Wayne; worked at Alcoils, Columbia City; Seamco, South Whitley; and Wendy’s, Fort Wayne, as a prep person and salad bar manager for almost 16 years. She was a member of The Chapel where she served as a greeter and attended the Senior Connection Group. A great caretaker, believing family always came first, she was also a floral designer, avid reader, collected Dicken Villages and enjoyed traveling.

Also surviving are two daughters, Mindy Tschantz and Kristy (and spouse David) Gottfried, all of Fort Wayne; and a granddaughter, Megan Tschantz, Fort Wayne. Her parents preceded her in death.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City. Burial will be in South Whitley Cemetery.

Calling is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
