NORTH MANCHESTER - Jay M. Gillespie, 67, of Silver Lake, died at 7:15 a.m. Jan. 3, 2010, in Haven Hospice, Chiefland, Fla.
He was born Feb. 1, 1942, in Wabash, to William M. and Selena L. Rhodes Gillespie. On Sept. 7, 1968, he married Mary Ann Mast, who died April 24, 2008.
He was a retired self-employed building contractor. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a 1960 Silver Lake High School graduate.
Surviving are his father, William M. Gillespie, Akron; a daughter, Ginger Dwyer, Morriston, Fla.; a sister, Billie (and spouse Joe) Risner, Akron; and two grandchildren, Heather Dwyer, Akron, and Sara Dwyer, Silver Lake. He was preceded in death by his mother, Selena L. Gillespie.
Services will be private. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Silver Lake.
No calling is planned.
