SYRACUSE - Jay E. Goshert, 36, of Milford, died at 12:50 a.m. Sept. 23, 2010, in Memorial Hospital, South Bend.
He was born March 5, 1974, in Goshen, to Kenneth E. and Jill K. Berlin Goshert, who survive in Milford.
A lifetime Milford area resident, he graduated from Wawasee High School in 1992; earned a bachelor's degree from Indiana University, South Bend, in 2006; and earned an associate's degree in computer science from Indiana Institute of Technology at 2009.
He was a teacher for Marshall Intermediate Center School, South Bend, for the past four years and formerly worked at Smoker Craft, New Paris.
He formerly attended Bethany Church of the Brethren, New Paris; was the founder of the Indiana Waverunners softball team in Syracuse; served on the Little League Board, Milford, for 15 years; and formerly served as the assistant coach for the Wawasee Girls Varsity Softball team.
Also surviving are two brothers, Mark (and spouse Penny) Goshert, Evansville, and Brian Goshert, Milford; and a sister, Karen Meade, Goshen.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Owen Family Funeral Home, Syracuse, with the Revs. Wayne Lawson and Tim Sollenberger-Morphew officiating. A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
Calling is from 2 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
