Janice M. Lilly, 75, died at 9:49 a.m. March 28, 2012, in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw.

She was born May 5, 1936, in Newton, Mass., to Joseph R. and Delia H. LaPorte Custeau. On June 20, 1970, in Boston, Mass., she married Norman Lilly, who died Feb. 16, 2007.

She enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corp Sept. 22, 1964, in Boston and served in Vietnam. Cpl. Janice M. Lilly was honorably discharged Oct. 11, 1966, in San Diego, Calif. She lived many years in the Warsaw area including Chapman Lake. She worked in customer service at New England Pacific and Illinois Phone Co. for 20 years, retiring in 1975, and also worked at Biomet. She was a devout and faithful Catholic and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Rosary Altar Society. She enjoyed reading, knitting, crocheting, working puzzles, playing bingo, boating and swimming and lobster boils. She cherished time with her only grandchild, Kellen, and sang songs to him as she made them up. She was a wonderful mom, going to all of Ellen’s band, swimming, T-ball and softball activities. She was loving, kind, considerate and had a good sense of humor. She enjoyed going to Bob Evans and Richard’s with her friends Mary and Ruth.

Surviving are a daughter, Ellen R. (and spouse Kevin) Tennant, Noblesville; a grandson, Kellen P. Tennant, Noblesville; a brother, Stanley (and spouse Carol) DeCoste, Orange Mass; a sister-in-law, Colletta Hoffman, Chicago, Ill.; three brothers-in-law: Gary Lilly, Berwyn, Ill.; Gilbert Lilly, Anderson, S.C.; and Thomas Lilly, Orland Park, Ill.; and several nieces and nephews. She also was preceded in death by her mother, Delia H. Custeau; and her father, Joseph R. Custeau.

Services will be at noon Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Warsaw, officiated by Father Philip DeVolder of the church. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw, with military graveside honors by members of Warsaw’s American Legion Post 49 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1126.  

Calling is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, with reciting of the rosary at 7:30 p.m.
