Janice L. Smith, 72, of 722 N. Cook St., Warsaw, died at 5:10 a.m. Dec. 15, 2008, in Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne.
She was born Sept. 8, 1936, in Warsaw, to Ira and Lillian Beatty Hyde. On April 25, 1953, in Warsaw, she married Robert E. Smith, who survives.
A lifetime Warsaw resident, she was a homemaker and attended Shiloh Chapel, Silver Lake.
Also surviving are three sons, William and Timothy Smith, both of Warsaw, and Michael Smith, Fort Wayne; a daughter, Tina Smith, Warsaw; a daughter-in-law, Sandra Smith, Chapman Lake; a sister, Carolyn Pratt, Warsaw; three brothers, Ira and James Hyde, both of Warsaw, and Charles Hyde, Atwood; 12 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters, a brother and a son, Robert Smith Jr.
Services will be at 4 p.m. Thursday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, with Pastors Charles Easterday and William Whitaker officiating. Burial will be at a later date.
Calling is from 2 to 4 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
