Janice J. Elder, 76, Pierceton, passed away at 1:45 p.m. Sept. 11, 2015, in her residence. She was born March 26, 1939, in Warsaw, to Walter and Erma Engle Bratt. She married Richard Camden, divorcing in 1967. On May 25, 1968, in Lafayette, Ga., she married Howard “Danny” Elder, who survives in Pierceton. She graduated from Warsaw High School. Her places of employment were Gebert Inc. as a press operator, making imprints on T-shirts; and The Pastime as a bartender. She worked at both places for 10 years. She was a member of the Ladies American Legion Auxiliary Post 258, Pierceton. Also surviving are: her daughters, Sheri Cretcher, North Webster, and Danielle (and spouse Jim) Ault, Pierceton; a son, Richard (and spouse Debra) Camden, Aurora, Ohio; a brother, Glee Bratt, Somers, Mont.; four grandchildren: Elizabeth (and companion Duane) Grunwell, Warsaw; James Cretcher, North Webster; Timothy (and companion Breanna) Vermillion, Pierceton; and Amanda (and spouse Aaron) Godwin, Fort Wayne; a step-grandson, Aaron (and companion Britney) Ault, Akron; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Raymond Weaver and Claude Engle. Services will be at noon Thursday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Pierceton, with Chaplain Bob Jarboe officiating.
