BREMEN- Janet Sue Kiefer, 75, of Bremen, passed away at 9:35 a.m. April 4, 2011, in Miller’s Merry Manor, Wakarusa. She was born Feb. 14, 1936, in Bremen, to Olen and Hazel Senff Ernsberger, who preceded her in death. On Sept. 16, 1956, she married Henry “Hank” Kiefer, her husband of 54 years, who survives. She was a member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church and an auxiliary member of Gideon’s International, Wawasee Camp. She was the former director of the preschool at St. Paul’s and former director of La Leche League International. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and will be missed by all who knew her. Also surviving are three sons: John (and spouse Sandy) Kiefer, Bonfield, Ill.; Jim (and spouse Melody) Kiefer, East Lansing, Mich.; and David (and spouse Beth) Kiefer, Birmingham, Mich.; and seven grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Stephen Michael Kiefer, and a brother, Jack Ernsberger. A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. May 8 at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Bremen.
